Berkeley Lost a Tooth!

Berk lost her first tooth today! We went to dance class this morning and when we got in the car to go home she showed me how it was just barely hanging in there. Within 20 minutes of getting home, she was talking and it started moving up and she reached in and gently pulled it out.

I am so sad to see her first baby tooth fall out. I LOVE baby teeth. I love those sweet little smiles with those tiny little teeth. Maybe it's not so much that I love baby teeth, but the fact that she is getting adult teeth and slowly moving towards becoming an adult that I don't like. At any rate, it's inevitable and there's nothing I can do about it so I'll do my best to embrace it and accept the fact that with each passing day and year my "baby" is getting older.

Berkeley's 6th Birthday!

On Saturday, November 5th, we celebrated Berkeley's 6th birthday. Of course we did a horse theme, since she eats, breathes and sleeps horses! She got an adorable pink hat and boots from Papa & Grandma Potts, riding lessons from us and Papa & Grandma Moran, horse pillow pet, huge horse book and tons of art supplies since every day when she gets off the bus she is busy at the kitchen table practicing her letters, numbers, coloring & drawing. Our table has been covered in painting projects, glitter, glue and even little pot holders that she made with her new weaving loom. She is our little artist and just loves being creative.

She had a wonderful time at her party and loved celebrating with family and her sweet little friends and cousins! She has her first 2 loose teeth on the bottom and we can see where one of her adult teeth is coming up behind them. I will miss those adorable little baby teeth. Hard to believe they will all be gone soon - my baby is growing up. Sniff, sniff :)

Halloween 2011

For Halloween this year we did our usual trip to Fall Festival at a local church. It was kind of lame because we got such a late start. We tried to do too much beforehand and we only got to be there for about an hour before it was over. The kids were bummed so I felt kind of bad. Berkeley wants to go trick or treating next year, but I don't want to take her because most neighborhoods have such creepy decorations and I don't want us to wake up 6 times a night for the next 2 months due to bad dreams. Maybe we'll just go to a few houses that we know are "safe."

Berkeley was a cow girl, Oliver was obviously Spider Man and Finley was a "wolf" spider. We had many unpleasant experiences with wolf spiders while living in Grandpa & Grandma's basement so the kids are very familiar with wolf spiders and decided that was the type of spider Finley was. As you can see, she wasn't feeling it at first, but as the night wore on she ended up enjoying herself and forgot all about the costume.
