Another Sweet Girl!!!

I am so very pleased to announce we are having another girl!!! Yippeeeeee!!! We are crazy excited and that's what we were both hoping for. Berkeley needs a sister. Sisters are the best. I know they'll be 4 years apart, but I hope eventually they'll be the very best of friends. Berkeley was insistent from the beginning that she was going to have a sister. I have heard that kids usually are right about those kinds of things because they are so in tune with everything. We haven't stopped smiling since we found out! Her name is going to be Finley. I have a middle name picked out, but Tom thinks it's weird, so I'm not sure if he will let me use it. Once again, I must ask everyone to pray for him:) Oh my goodness I feel like I'm going to come out of my skin. I am thrilled! Nice work Thomas - you're a champ! We can't wait to meet you Baby Fin!

Berkeley is 4!

My sweet 4 year old

We had Berkeley's 4th birthday party on Sunday. Unfortunately, there is a lot of nasty stuff going around, so quite a few people couldn't make it, but she still had a good time. We did a "cute-as-a-button" theme and it was great fun doing all of the detaily stuff that I love to do.
I can't believe she is 4 already. In fact, I got out 3 candles before the party and then realized that something wasn't quite right and that I needed one more. She has been such a joy to love and care for. A couple of weeks ago she got sick so I slept with her in the "sick bed" downstairs. She would wake up off and on all night long and I'd hold the bucket for her and after she was all done she'd hug me or give me a sweet little kiss on the tip of my nose. She tells me at least 15 times a day that she "Loves me SOOOOOO much" or "You're the best mommy ever." I had a plaque made for her room that says "Love You To The Moon And Back" and she often says that to me and to the grandmas, which of course just melts their hearts! She has such a sweet spirit and a joyous laugh. I love my little girl so much and feel so blessed that God gave her to us to love and cuddle!
The last 2 pictures absolutely crack me up. Berkeley is a very dainty/delicate eater and she ate all of the frosting off of her cupcake using a candle. It took her about 20 minutes to clean all the frosting off and then she was done. I don't even think I had to wipe her face or hands. Oliver, on the other hand, shoved the whole thing in his face and made a complete mess of himself! They are such opposites, but so much fun in their own special ways. I can't believe I am halfway done with this pregnancy and get to find out on Thursday what we're having! I know we'll be blessed beyond belief with this next little peanut.
We love you beyond words beautiful Berkeley. Happy 4th Birthday sweet girl.

Halloween

Berkeley was a ferocious lion and played the part beautifully!

Oliver was a rooster and enjoyed cock-a-doodle-dooing all night long!

Cohen was the cutest little spider I've ever seen!

Ella and Berk matched! Berk was NOT going to smile until she got some of that yummy cotton candy.
I just about died when I saw the size of that...it's almost bigger than she is :)

Cousins

I took the kids to a birthday party on Sunday, but on the way I met Laura there so we could attempt to get some pictures of the cousins together! I don't know how Laura managed to get Oliver to smile, but it worked. He HATES having his picture taken...typical guy. She must have been doing an imitation of me dancing while she was behind me. That would make anyone laugh :)

The Patch

Uncle Jer & the kids

Cute little Cohen

I tried to get a cute picture of my kids together, and I'm not gonna lie...there was some fighting...

...and some pouting.

Riding the cow train

Cute little pumpkin!

...and we're done with the group photos! We tried it at the end when everyone was hungry. What were we thinking? We know better than to wait till the end for these types of photos!

Are you still taking pictures Mom? I thought we were getting some lunch!

Me with my girl...

...and my boy!

One last silly shot before climbing in the car!
We went to the pumpkin patch last Sunday and I think we had the last gorgeous day of the year! We really lucked out with the weather. It was so warm and beautiful...the perfect day for the pumpkin patch! Uncle Jer went with us this year and Laura finally had a baby of her own to take fun pictures of! Chris was at the football game and was bummed to have missed out on it. It was so much fun and we got some cute pictures.
Unfortunately, we waited too long for a group photo of the kids. I know it's always best to do it right off the bat so you have happy, excited kids, instead of at the end when everyone is tired and hungry. I'm not sure how that slipped my mind. I'll just blame "pregnancy brain" once again :) Oh dear, what kind of excuses am I going to have when I'm not pregnant anymore? Oh, I'm sure I'll think of something :)
I can't wait for next year. Laura reminded me we will have 4 little pumpkins at the patch and maybe another one in the works if Chris & Laura start cooking another one this summer! Oh, what fun! I just love these times!

My Adorable Nephew

I had to post some pictures of little Cohen! He is getting to be so fun. He "chats" non-stop and smiles, laughs and flirts with all the girls. He is quite the charmer! I can't wait till he starts talking and running around. It's so fun to see Laura as a mom. She is so sweet and patient and just loves him to death. As you can see in the last picuture, the feeling is mutual - Cohen would gobble her up if he could. He is quite the little "mama's boy" and he just adores her. He is so fortunate to have her for a mom...I can't imagine a luckier little boy!!!

A Seed Has Been Planted!!!

I have some news…Thomas planted his seed!!! I have been busy watering it. Lots and lots of watering, in fact. I water around the clock...at 12, 2, 4, and 6 am, etc. Poor Tom was speechless and couldn’t believe his eyes when I showed him the test. Much to his chagrin, it pretty much happened on the first or second shot. I now call him “One Shot Potts.” I suppose this is one instance where being a hard worker doesn’t necessarily pay off. I told him that I have heard “baby relations” can be very stressful and not at all fun after a while, but he would have none of that. I kind of lured him into it with promises of lots of “trying” and the return of my juicy “girls.” He actually got kind of excited over the thought of having another baby, but then when it happened right away he was a bit disappointed. Also, my “girls” have not really come in yet, so I think he is feeling kind of jipped!

We told Grandma Sam on her 86th birthday which was special to her. Being the first to know that kind of thing is a really big deal to her so we wrote in her card that she would have ‘8’ great grandchildren. She was pretty thrilled to be the one to announce it to the family.

The following day we had dinner at my parent’s house to celebrate a late birthday for my dad and we decided to tell them there. I have always wanted to use Molly Ringwald’s line in “Sixteen Candles” (this was a hugely popular movie in the 80’s for those of you in the younger crowd who may not have any idea what I’m even referring to). She plays a pregnant 16 year old, who has to break the news to her family. So, at dinner she nonchalantly says “Pass the turnips, I’m pregnant,” hoping to fly under the radar and not get anyone all riled up. I didn’t do it with my first 2 pregnancies just because it didn’t seem appropriate, but by the 3rd one, I decided to throw caution to the wind and just do something really cheesy. Plus, Chris begged me to do it that way and I didn’t want to disappoint! As we were dishing up I completely forgot about it (I blame it on pregnancy brain) until I noticed Laura raising her eyebrows at me and silently prodding me to do it. I got a bit flustered and said “Oh, oh, pass the turnips I’m pregnant!” My dad just kept cutting his meat and didn’t even look up even though his hearing aids were on and my mom stopped eating and just stared at me while the rest of us busted up laughing and couldn’t stop. My mom just stared at me with her mouth open and finally asked “Are you serious?” I was finally able to compose myself and confirmed that yes, I was indeed serious. She looked at my dad (still cutting his meat, mind you) and said “John, are you hearing this?” He looked up and said “Well, yeah, but I just thought she was joking.” I was hoping for an “Atta girl” from Chris, but instead I got a head shake and a “Good Lord, don’t ever become an actress.” My husband agreed with him and said “No kidding, you have horrible timing.” Oh well, Laura and I got a kick out of it, which is traditionally the case. It actually kind of reminded me of something you’d see with the Griswold family! Total cheese!!! Ya gotta love it!

So there you have it…that’s my big news for the month of September. My uterus is now flashing a "NO VACANCY" sign. I learned a couple of new things about myself throughout all of this: I probably won’t ever be earning a paycheck by acting, however, sales just might be in my future! I have always said I don’t have the personality for sales and would be horrible at it, but I’m starting to change my tune. After all, I sold my husband on having another baby and I didn’t think that would ever happen! Watch out world, here I come!!
