Tummy Pics
Finley will be making her debut exactly 10 days from today on March 17th. I have to have another c-section because she, like her brother, is breech. Since we tried turning Oliver and it didn’t work, I have decided not to try moving her since she has not changed positions since week 20. Tom and I seem to make the most stubborn, hard headed little babies that just get wedged in there and refuse to budge. I guess it’s not too surprising since we are 2 of the most stubborn people on the planet. The other night I wasn’t feeling very well and kind of panicked when I realized we haven’t had any pictures taken of her in my tummy so here they are.
We have decided to go ahead with Finley Winslet. I just think it’s really unique, feminine and whimsical. When I picture a little girl with this name I picture her to be completely lighthearted and fun–loving. I know some of you will think it’s a weird name, but I like having kids with really unique names. I hope I never meet another Berkeley, Oliver or Finley!! I don’t mind if there are some of those names in other states across the country, just not in mine. I know, I’m a little over the top when it comes to names, but it really is a huge deal to me. Oh well, what are you gonna do?
This pregnancy has gone super fast. I think it’s because I have been so busy with the other 2 that I just haven’t had time to think about it or really even prepare. The holidays didn’t help either because time always seems to fly during that season. I didn’t crave many donuts this time around. The things I ate the most of are Oreo’s. Costco sells a larger than life pack and I have purchased quite a few of them in recent months. One day Laura called just as I put Berkeley & Oliver down for their naps. When she asked me what I was doing I said “Oh, the kids just went down so I am sitting on the couch about to polish off a sleeve of Oreos.” She laughed and said “Oh, don’t let me keep you from that…have a few for me too.” And I did. She didn’t have to tell me twice! I can’t ever say no to my sister, and in this instance I was more than happy to fulfill her request!
I have never been one to wear my husband’s clothes, but I happened to discover some really warm black fleece pants in his closet one day. I put them on along with a black ‘non-maternity’ shirt. When I went downstairs Tom was sitting on the couch and started cracking up. He said “Wow! You kind of look like an Oreo with that outfit on. I think you’ve had so many of them you’re turning into one.” Sure enough, I looked down and saw my pasty white tummy sticking out in between my black shirt and pants. I guess it’s true, you are what you eat! I told him he was really lucky to have a wife that enjoys laughing at herself; otherwise he’d be sleeping elsewhere! Wise guy!
Another thing I discovered from Costco are those cream puffs filled with fresh whipped cream. Every once in a while I’ll get 8-10 of them out of the freezer and let them sit for 30 minutes so the cream gets nice and soft. If you have never tried these you truly are missing out on a little piece of heaven on earth. I have consumed so many of these, that it looks as though I am carrying 3 babies…one in front and 2 in back. We 'lovingly' refer to it as the trifecta! I now have my own “cream filled puffs” that follow me everywhere! When I round a corner it takes a few seconds for the rest of me to clear it! As you can imagine, it is getting increasingly more difficult with each passing day to visit Elmo in the back of my car. You see, Elmo was designed for tiny little 3 year old buns, not enormous cream filled ones! I’m sure I make quite a sight being 9 months pregnant hovering precariously above a child’s potty seat. I'm pretty sure Beyonce would wholeheartedly agree with me when I say "I don’t think Elmo was quite ready for this jelly!"
So, that’s it. 9 months and 40 lbs later I’m getting ready to have another baby. The novelty of being pregnant the third time around may have worn off a bit, but the food consumption definitely hasn’t. I’ll just make sure I steer clear of Jake's vet for a little while longer. I know the growth chart would consider me to be “grossly obese” and I’m just not ready to face that yet! Meanwhile, I believe it’s been about 30 minutes so my puffs should be just the right temperature. I’ll go ahead and have one for you, Laura. Or, more than likely, 2 or 3 or 4!!!

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I LOVE the one with the ribbon, that is my fave. OK, and can I just say, you should be a hand model! LOL. You have the prettiest hands! And those rings don't hurt either. :-)
And I will also say, you look amazing. That is what I looked like at about 16 weeks pregnant with my 3rd! Those cream puffs and oreos haven't done much damamge at all....and girl, my rear end has always entered a room a few seconds after I do...welcome to my world. :-)
I love the middle name you have chosen for Finley, epsecially because I LOVE Kate Winslet! :-) It is so sweet. I am so excited for you. BLESSINGS!!!!!
Lisa, have 5 or 6 for me. I'm dying for a cream puff but I too carry two permanent ones that I would like to take the puff out of! I'm so glad you took some pictures, they are beautiful. I can't wait to meet Finley, she's a lucky little girl.
Hooray for belly pics! You look amazing! I can't believe you are already due! Time sure flies when you're not the one pregnant! BTW, I LOVE all of your kids' names! So unique, yet beautiful! (Not wierd like so many I hear these days.) So, if we have another boy and name him Oliver, you're going make us move out of the state, aren't you? You best be praying we have a girl! ;) (No, in case you're wondering, no announcements!) Bless you!
Oh my goodness.....love the pictures! thank you for posting some before Fin got here. And please....eat a sleeve of Oreos for me. Those are my most favorite cookie but like Laura said, I carry 2 or 12 sleeves of Oreos on my backside that I am trying to get rid of. Cant wait to see the pictures of your beautiful girl when she gets here!
Thanks Jess. You think the oreos and cream puffs haven't done much damage? Well, all I can say is, black & white is supposed to be slimming, which is precisely why all of the pictures are done in b&w. As for my hands, thank you! It's funny, that is what attracted Tom to me in MC all those years ago. He said he would sit across the room from me during class and look at them. Come to think of it, since we were in MC that is probably all he could see of me considering the fact that the dress code was turtle necks and baggy pants! Plus, those were my pre-child bearing days so I had no curves or voluptuousness whatsover! My hands were all I had going for me back then. The question is...what was that sex-starved MC student imagining me doing with those hands? Dirty old man! Just kidding :) Oh, and I'm glad you like the middle name. I LOVE Kate Winslet too. She is so real and I love the fact that she refuses to have any 'work' done in a very shallow industry where it is almost expected now.
Laura, I love your cream puffs...you know that! My hands are drawn to them like a moth to a flame. Every time you are in my kitchen, or any kitchen, I can't seem stop myself from giving them a little love tap as I pass by. We're sisters, so what's yours is mine and what's mine is yours, right? So, I kind of feel a sense of entitlement when it comes to your "creaminess." I, personally, would be distraught if they ever lost their puff :)
Andrea, yes, I'm sorry to say I will be devastated if you name your next boy Oliver and I will be forced to escort you out of the state :) We can still be pen pals though :) I'll just begin fasting and praying that your next 3 babies are girls. Then, you'll get the credit for me losing my 40 lbs. It'll be a win-win all around!!! I agree with you sister, there ARE some pretty weird names out there. I don't want Winslet to be one of those, but hopefully it's more cute than funky! I know what you mean, other pregnancies go by in the blink of an eye, don't they? I'll be checking your blog periodically for an announcement from you :)
Kel, if you think you carry multiple sleeves of oreos on your back side you have another think coming lady! I don't know what kind of mirrors you have in that neck of the woods, but I can assure you, they lie! I'd still be happy to eat a sleeve for you though. I'll do it in your honor before I have this baby and lose any and all excuses to polish off a sleeve of ANYTHING!
Oh heavens, Berkeley just painted Oliver's nails in the time it took me to respond to all of your very sweet comments. I'd better haul my puffs upstairs and find the nail polish remover before Tom gets home and freaks out that his boy has pink nails.
OMG, I almost spit my coffee out all over my computer when I read your comments about the MC dress code! You are so funny!
Congratulations Lisa! I didn't even know you are expecting :) We are expecting number 6 in June, another girl! Have a great last few days of being pregnant, blessings!!d
Lisa. This is my favorite post ever. You are so freaking hilarious, OMG!! Today I went into Cutters Point and thought of you me and Laura's rendevous' there, we need to do that again, remember those fun napkins about the pickle fork? LOL! You are a beautiful oreo cream puff, and I agree with what you said to Laura, hopefully I can get in on that action just being your ladies friend;)
Oh my gosh Kim...I still have some of those napkins in my cupboard just becuase they make me laugh so hard..."Where the hell is my pickle fork? I can't have anything nice with you kids." Oh, those are just priceless :)
