The Fair

Cohen slept through most of the HOT day
Oliver LOVES horses

A sweet calf named "Star"
The slide was a hit!

This little boy lives for speed!

Her first roller coaster!
What a brave girl!

We went to the county fair (wow, that's really redneck sounding, isn't it?) a couple of weeks ago and had a blast. I think one of my very favorite things about summer is going to the fair. I couldn't believe how brave Berkeley was. She went on her very first roller coaster ride and loved it! The only part that bothered her was the nosie. I asked her if she had fun and she said "Yes, but I was a little bit scared of the noise." Oh, and at the end of the ride she jumped down out of her seat, fell and hurt her knee and then started to cry when the man in charge of the ride tried to help her up. I couldn't blame her, I'd probably cry too if some creepy carnival guy tried to pick me up!
We went down the slide a thousand times and, Lord, have mercy, what a work out! Between the heat and carrying Oliver up over and over again I was drenched when we were finally done! I definitely "felt the burn" in all the areas that matter :)
Cohen enjoyed his first fair. The heat zapped him and he slept through the majority of it, but he was happy in the Baby Bjorn nestled up against his mother's breast. Heck, who wouldn't be :)
It was a wonderful day and we had happy and exhausted kids when it was over. Can't wait for the P. Fair next. Berkeley has a count down going. She loved it last year (still talks about it all the time) and I think she'll get to do so much more this year since she's a little bit taller and can ride more rides!

I don't love fairs, but one of my all time favorite things to do is to watch my children have fun! Therefore, I endure! ;) We missed the "big" fair last year, so hopefull we can make it this year. Sure sounds like you guys had a great time!

Andrea, I too used to be a "fair hater," but then I had kids and saw how much fun they had and I had a change of heart. Anything that makes them that happy makes me happy too :) So, I have been converted!!!

Kim, what a great idea to save up throughout the year for the fair. We may have to start that tradition!
